Pictures From A While Ago

Occasionally, I like to stroll (jog, meander, walk, ambulate) down Memory Lane and look back at what our family was up to in the previous year. Here are a few pictorial memories from January and February, 2009.

Sarah ready for Tacky Day at school. Or was it Wacky Day? I can never remember. How 'bout if we just call it Tacky Wacky Day and be done with it?

Sarah and Steve enjoying an infrequent North Carolina snowfall.

The Chicken Soup for the Soul book finally arrived at our house! (If you're a newly arrived reader, the Cancer Book included a story that I wrote about Sarah. You can find out how to order an autographed copy by scrolling down the right column.)

And speaking of autographs, Sarah has signed a ton of them!

Last February, we met up with a few new blogger friends in Atlanta. Our family was in town to pick up Nathan at the airport (he was returning from five weeks in Jerusalem) and we had the great joy of hanging out with some of the best bloggin' buds on the planet! (Or at least in Georgia.)

While we were at the restaurant, I got the phone call from Nate saying his plane was on the ground. Woo-hoo!

Sarah and I enjoying the evening.

On the way to Atlanta, Snowy decided that Steve's body would make a lovely lounging area.

Sarah spent a couple days at Victoria's house in Charlotte.

Steve and Sarah went out for dinner and a movie one night. (Leaving Snowy and I home. Alone. Bereft. Lonely. Discombobulated. But we're not bitter.)

Sarah's message to the world!

One more test in a long line of tests.

Sarah goes country

Nathan goes to Israel

And your screen . . . . goes . . . . blank.

I'm done!

Becky: What are you going to do with all that free time every day now that Sarah will be in school? Also, give us an update on Nathan--I'm down here in Lady Lake, Florida--not too far from him. Has he mentioned the "unseasonably and very un-Florida-like" cold spells we have been having?

I enjoy your blog so much and it's a relief to find somebody who is still just blogging--as opposed to selling, advertising, give-aways, etc. If that's what I wanted, I'd enter the Publisher's Clearinghouse Sweepstakes!!

AGAIN????

It wasn't enough that I had to see photos, get emails, and hear about the fact that you met Pam E and Pam D in person for months long after this visit ended???

NOW, one year later, just when I was starting to feel comfortable with my place in the country (which is nowhere near NC), my place in this world, my friendship with the three of you...NOW you insist on opening up old would????

Hrumph.

Hrumph, indeed.

Um that would be wounds.

I haven't had any old woulds opened lately.

Some wouldn'ts, but no woulds.

Love the photos and got a kick out of your final comment! :O)

Did Nathan have the opportunity to travel by camel? Guerrina

I don't remember seeing the picture of Nathan and the camels. I love it! My brother collected camels, and I probably gave him close to 100!!!

Becky, I loved the look back. Is there any volunteer positions at Sarah's school or mothers' clubs you could join? If not this year, maybe next - that will make you feel so much closer to her experiences and her school. When I read Sarah's Spot today, it ties into this trip down memory lane. Sarah has grown up a lot in this last year and so very much has happened - all good, as far as I can remember!
