An Update From Debbie

Hello everyone! This is Becky's sister, Debbie (the high-maintenance one:-) ).

Becky is home, in her own bed and sleeping. On the way home this morning (she had to leave the room by 6 this morning due to insurance requirements--don't even get me started), her basic summation of the experience was that is was much harder than she thought it was going to be. But yet, she handled it all with her typical grace and courage and we are very proud of her.

Yesterday after the surgery, Becky had quite a bit of pain and some nausea through the afternoon. By evening, the pain was more under control and she was able to eat. She rested pretty well last night was able to tolerate the ride home, though with some discomfort.

The pain medications seem to be working well and Steve and I learned how to empty the drains with neither one of us passing out cold. Yep, the family that Does Drains together, stays together!

I know your prayers, love and concern mean so much to Becky and to the family as well. Thank you.

Thanks so much, Debbie; I've checking and praying and then praying and checking. More praying than checking, but it's nice to know that all is well (relatively speaking). We'll all keep praying while you guys "do the drain thing" together! {{{hugs}}}

Debbie (I doubt you are as high maintenance as everyone is telling us), thank you so much for the update. I continue to pray for Becky and for her comfort and quick recovery. How lucky she is to have all of you (and your humor and wit) to help her get through all of this. I am thankful she is home and resting and I am sure Snowy is on THE JOB!!! Let her know how much we all care. Much luck to all the drain draining people - I commend you! Praying in St. Louis. I am responsible for a "few" of the hits on the websit - I like to think of them as prayers (in a cyberspace sort of way).

Thanks for letting us know that all is well. My daughter had breast reduction surgery, and I remember the drains as the most difficult part for me.
I know Becky will feel better with each passing day. So glad you are there with her! Give her our best wishes.

Thank you for the update during this busy time. Will continue to pray for her. These next few days will be difficult, but she has such a great faith, and we know God will sustain her.

Debbie, you are a wonderful sister.
May the Lord richly bless you for the love you are showing Becky and the whole Smith clan. I imagine your presence there means the world to her.
