I really love finding helpful information and various websites from all around here and there. And since I have a few I’ve gathered up, I thought I’d be especially super nice and share them with you. Let me know if any of them are helpful to you!

Scholar Google

This only checks scholarly works: papers, books and articles from academic publishers, professional societies, etc. Allows you to skip potentially unreliable sources for homework when using regular Google.

The Free Dictionary

Scan definitions, hear correct pronunciation, get dozens of translations, even play hangman or enter a cyber spelling bee.


Answers any math problem will tackle nonmath queries as well. Its long term goal is to make all systematic knowledge immediately computable and accessible to everyone.

Great collection!

Another suggestion is the iPhone app: Shop Savvy (free). It uses the phone's camera to "scan" the barcode, then provides information about the price at other locations nearby, using the phone's GPS capabilities. I use this one a lot. :)

Since "we" are all voting for the "TEAM" aka Arms Wide Open Grant for less toxic treatments for the kids - cutting and pasting some late breaking - worthwhile sharing....drum roll please...

"We made it to 2nd place!!!!!!! And my understanding is someone has offered to match the donation if we win! So we MUST continue to vote and spread the word so that we can stay in 2nd place until the 30th!!! Thank you to ALL who helped make this happen! I know you've been working hard on this!

Wouldn't that just be DOUBLE the victory - which at $250,000 is quite SWEET already!!!
