This Is Why I Am Thankful for Make Up

A couple years ago, we had our family portraits done and I asked Steve take “before and after” Pre-Portrait Pictures.

You know, sometimes I have envied guys because they can get up in the morning and shower and be ready for the day in the fraction of the time it takes most of us make up totin’ women.

On the other hand, sometimes I have felt sorry for guys because when they get up in the morning and look in the mirror? That’s basically as good as it gets!

Ladies, can you imagine?

I’m so happy that Maybelline and I are such good buddies!

I'm from New Braunfels, Texas! I love it because it has all the convenience of a big city but it is small enough that I went to the DMV last week and it took less than 10 minutes!! I also love our 2beautiful rivers & our huge city park!! Plus it is only cold here for a month or 2!!!

Awww,I'm glad you liked my idea. Let me tell you a tiny bit about the Isle of Wight. It's about 23 miles wide by 13 miles deep and is separated from the rest of England by 5miles of water (The solent. Our main industry is tourism and we have some very pretty beaches. There are pockets of real wealth on the Island based around the sailing world but on the whole we are economically poor compared to the rest of the South Coast. It's fun to live here, the pace is slow and people love to retire here.

I live in Homerville, Georgia. My little town is in very southern Georgia right on the Okefenokee Swamp and the Suwannee River. When you enter Homerville, you could turn the clock back 50 years and that is how life is here. We still "charge" at the local businesses, the mechanic will pick up my car at work and bring it back fixed, oil changed, etc. and send me the bill, the bank will call when my kids' accounts get low, and someone will also call when my kids aren't doing the "right" thing, we know all our policemen and firemen by first name, I go to church with the families of the kids I teach. We know each other in the grocery store, the pharmacist will open up after hours as will the doctor. We leave our keys in the car in case someone needs to move it. There is one red light in town...actually not another one for over 20 miles any direction. So, under the red light is a place we all know. We have two chain restaurants and a handful of locally owned, one grocery store, a family pharmacy, and we have local accounts at all these businesses. The local owner of the gift shop calls to remind me of a shower coming up so I don't forget to send a gift. Everyone comes to the football games on Friday night. Our biggest industry is farming with a few industrial manufacturers. Beekeeping is big business and we are considered a "honey of a place to live". I think it is totally fitting...how about you?
