It's Here!

The new camera arrived a whole day early!

I have unpacked it and stared at it and circled warily around it and even held it a little bit!

The battery is currently charging and at some point today, I might even get the courage to put it all together and push the shutter button!

I'm so excited!

(Is that enough exclamation marks for one post?)

Oh, I remember that feeling. Definitely looking forward to the results. Hope you enjoy the capabilities of your new camera!

There are some good deals on lenses right now, and Adorama also has a very good "used equipment" section (because it's Adorama, their evaluations of used goods are typically quite accurate). The website I mentioned on my blog the other day (which I won't mention by name here because it would seem like shilling for a company, which I'm not) is also having a "launch party drawing," so if you sign up for their newsletter, you have the chance to win a Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 (it's the second contest option). No harm in trying!

So SO cool!! I can't wait to see your pictures!
By the way, I think you should get a 50mm, at least for portrait photos. I love this lense, it works so well (I have a nikkor 50mm f/1.4) :)
Anyway, have plenty of fun with your new toy hehe.

Once you get started, there's no stopping...just a warning :) You can always put it in automatic mode and it will do all the work for you. Then, when you have the energy/time switch to manual, thank goodness for digital, you can delete the hundreds of bad ones :) You probably know that Pionees woman has some nice tutorials on her site--i learn a lot from her blog.

I don't know anything about cameras, but I know I will enjoy your photos!
Have a blast with your new camera.
