Doctor Report. Bed.

Just got back from Greenville at 8:30 pm since my appointment got delayed.  I am wiped out!

But happily there is good news to report.  The pulmonologist said that from everything he could discern from the extensive breathing tests done today, I am basically holding my own. There were a few areas where I have lost ground and a couple other areas where I gained ground so the overall result kind of averages out to "no change."   Which is better than "getting worse!"

I'll take what I can get and am extra thankful tonight that I am not coming home with a gloomy report.

And now?  Since I've been awake since 4 am and gone from the house for 12 hours, I am off to my wonderful, marvelous, comfy, cozy, heated mattress padded bed.

Great news, Becky!

Did you mention in your previous post (I am too tired to go back and reread--SO SORRY) that you were told that women about our age should be blowing a 600 on the peak flow meter? I have NEVER been able to do that! On a good day, I can blow about 350, and when I am in a flare I have gotten as low as 150.

I DO NOT have COPD but very severe asthma. I check my PF twice daily (and more often if I am in a flare-up). That helps me determine if I use my rescue inhaler, nebulizer containing said rescue medication, steroids or both.

For people that don't have asthma, COPD, or any type of lung issues, I like to call it the Elephant Phenomenon of Asthma/COPD/LUNG DISEASE! Think about trying to breathe with a Daddy Elephant sitting on your chest, with his truck wrapped around your neck/throat area. That would be, the Elephant Phenomenon!

But this, Becky, is ALL ABOUT YOU! Great news! I am glad to know you're stable. Many prayers have been answered.

Sleeo tight, I am right behind you---in my own bed, of course! LOL!

Love, Jodi

PS. Can we have Wedding Wednesday, everyday?

So thankful to read the good news, thought about you all day long!

It will be so good to see the Smith family soon and hopefully cooler weather. No heated beds needed here with over 100 degree days! Won't be long now.

Deb @ 9/29 are you the FAMOUS DEB as in Becky's sister?

Just wondering, I am your neighbor to the SOUTH (IL).

Keep meaning to ask!

Praise God from whom all blessings flow! (Thought I'd borrow a line to express my joy. From one hymn lover to another.) Love you, Becky!
