What Life Is

After getting about two hours of sleep last night, I finally talked with my sister this morning.

Dad is still holding on by a thread. Debbie said that after hanging up with me, she and the family would be talking with the doctor about which life saving measures (if any) they want to keep in place. Tough decisions for all.

In a couple hours, we'll be headed out to our two Very Important Appointments on the coast. And then at some point next week, there will no doubt be a long drive to Wisconsin, a funeral, a college farewell to Nathan and the celebration of Sarah's 14th birthday.

Isn't that just what life is, though? It is celebrations, sorrows, joys, tears, saying good bye to the old parts of life and saying hello to the constantly evolving new chapters that are being written every moment.

At this very moment, Dad is in the process of saying both good-bye (to us) and hello (to heaven). He is truly living out what life is.

Amen, Becky, you said it perfectly and whether your Dad is here on Earth or in Heaven, he will always continue to watch over all of you and guide your paths. Keep him busy when he gets to Heaven, talk to him, tell him what you need most, he will, then more than ever, have the ear of God.

Safe travels to ALL! You will be in my thoughts this weekend.

Becky, I have followed Sarah's CB site for a few years and I believe occasionally signed her guest book. I have never left a comment on your blog. However, now is the time to do it to let you know I am keeping you and all of your family in my prayers as your Dad prepares to go Home to Jesus, if he hasn't already. Just know I am sending love and saying prayers!!!!

Precious Becky
I read both entries of early this morning(where you prayed) and the one here. I have to say, I cried a long with you and I am so very very sorry about your Dad. This is one of my biggest fears. Parents are always there, arent they? My heart and my prayers remain with you through these next days to come.
I love you all
Nancy

Miss Becky, I am so sorry to hear about your Dad. I am, however, so happy to know that you all are secure in knowing that you will all be together again. In a time of sorrow, what greater comfort could we have?

Dear Becky,

I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad - he sounds like a wonderful man, and I know that his faith (and yours) will help in his transition to the next part of his journey. I, too, am only an occasional signer, but I regularly enjoy the antics of your wonderful and quirky (in a good way!) family. I get lots of smiles, and even lots of tears (you're good that way), so even though I'm predominantly a lurker, please know that "I'm with ya". So for tonight, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. God bless.

Dear Becky,
I have been here but not responding much.I have had a baby grandson in the hosp. for awhile. He is out now and we are waiting on some very important tests to be done.
I did want you to know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers as your dad makes this new journey. That was so beautiful of him to call each of you...it brought me to realization once again.
Love to each of you with hugs,
Colleen

Becky -- You (and all of your family) are in my thoughts and prayers! I lost my dear dad last year at the wonderful age of 94, and I understand how hard it is to let go, even when it is expected. I will keep you all in my prayers as you face the difficult days ahead. Hugs,
Linda
