House Update 2

Our Realtor reported back to us on the lady who saw the house today. The agent actually didn't have to do any work at all, because the lady's daughter was just walking through the house saying, "Oh mom! I love this and I love that and isn't this feature great?" The daughter is already sold!

However, there is a house ten miles away that is 800 feet larger than ours, but much older and in need of a lot of renovation before it can be moved into. This woman is going to get a contractor to do an estimate as to how much money (and time) will need to be invested before it's habitable. I'm assuming if she isn't happy with that answer, our house will be her choice. We will have a final answer in a week.

fingers and toes and everything else crossed for you! Should we call local contractors there and bribe them to give her a bad estimate? heheh. (Kidding!)

Well, it's good that she likes the house but it doesn't seem like there is a sense of urgency which is too bad. Hope it swings your way. Or, in the meantime someone else makes an offer.

The housing market where I live, north of Seattle, is picking up. Four houses in my neighborhood sold in the last couple of weeks. Hopefully that will happen in Smithfield also.

I know many people think your house is wonderful, and I think the layout is, but some of your tastes are very different than mine and would keep me from buying your house over another. Although, with the price, I could overlook the things I don't like and would just plan on some major painting before occupying. Again, JMHO. Good luck and I hope you get an offer soon. Elaine
