House Update

There is a new post below this one, but I wanted to pass on some breaking news.

Yesterday, two people looked at our house. The first family loved the house, loved the price; however, they wanted a downstairs master bedroom.

The second family loved the house and then proceeded to offer $15,000 less than our already slashed-to-the-bone price. No can do.

But the exciting news? Today a woman is coming back to look at the house again, after having looked at it six weeks ago. She has narrowed her selection down to two homes: ours and another one a few miles away. She already has her financing arranged and doesn't have another house to sell before buying another one.

Maybe it will help her decision making process that our house has been marked down even more since the last time she saw it.

These pictures were emailed to us yesterday by our real estate agent so that we could see what she's been doing to try to move the house.

I took one look at the pictures and burst into tears. (I'm a bit weepy in general.) I just loved that house so much and feel like we're putting a "friend" up for sale. Sigh. As hard as it is, I just hope the friend sells soon. I'll keep you posted . . .

By the way, my new blog design should be put up today . . . or tomorrow at the latest. Finally!

I have to say, Smithfield prices are SO much lower than around here. Your house would be another $125,000 or so. Wish we could snatch it up here!

I will pray things work out quickly for your peace of mind.

Seriously. 154.9? wow. Up here it would easily be close to 350. Jeepers.

Sell, baby, sell...

Nice price for a nice home! Hope that you get a great offer quick. My siblings and I are trying to sell our parents' home. I want to drop the price because it is an older neighborhood and unfortunately the houses around it are not as nice. Then I have two very good friends who just sold a fairly new home (18 months old) and are looking in another area. I will be glad when all the house selling and buying is over too!

Where I live it would be at least $300,00. Probably closer to $350,000. Hope you get a reasonable offer today. Like the asking price. Elaine

The price is a complete and total steal - what is wrong with people - That house would be at least a $100,000 more in this area and what is the deal with a first floor master suite? Anyhoooo....I can't imagine that beauty of a house not selling soon. Becky, I didn't comment on your prior post but...you go, girl...there is no way anyone can remove or alter the important part of our beloved Becky - what you are losing is nothing to what you are gaining. Praying.

WOW! That sounds like some very hopeful news! That is less than I paid for my house and yours is bigger!! Crazy!! I HATE that you had to drop the price so much & that you have had to wait so long to sell it! I'm so sorry!

We are praying for you Becky and ALL the challenges that seem to be before you.

In the midst of all of the uncertainty...we can be certain of one thing...HE remains.
