One Year!

Happy one year birthday (or is it anniversary?) to Smithellaneous!

One year ago today, I branched out from Sarah's Spot to start this blog and I must say, it's been a fun and fabulous year, thanks to those of you who have become faithful readers and long distance friends.

I appreciate your comments as to what post(s) stuck out in your mind the most from the past year. From the way things look right now, Snowy's posts have been among the most popular; I'll have to talk with him and see if he'd be willing to write any more. (Or maybe, based on his popularity, I'll end up having to work through his agent.)

I never take it for granted that there are people out there who actually take the time to read what I take the time to write. It would be pretty lonely around here without you so I'm glad, thankful (and even ecstatic) that you're here.

Thank you for being a part of the Smithellaneous Family!

Have 1st anniversary!! I have to admit your blog is always the first one I check when I turn on my computer in the morning :)

Long life to Smithellaneous!!

Becky,

Happy 1st anniversary! I usually can't wait to get home from the office to check Smithellaneous, and I get home early for someone who works on the west coast! Thankfully in less than three months that won't be an issue anymore.

I was disturbed by the very low offer on your house in Smithfield, but I am praying there is someone else out there that realizes what a bargain it is very soon. I hope you felt lots of love at church today after the annoucement.

I love reading the posts with a bit of life advice (like the fathers day one) and ones of Nathan and Megan (but I totally respect their privacy and wouldn't want you to post more about them on my account). I draw a lot in particular from posts like those.

I can't believe I've been reading your blog for a whole year. I enjoy it so much. My very favorite photo is the one of your son's wallet on the table and how it let you know he had arrived safely during the night. I look for my daughter's keys by the front door and for big shoes in the bathroom when my son comes home very late. They're both in college _ Daughter at COA in Manteo and son at UNCG.

What? I never said I read it! I just come here to leave comments because they mean so much to you.

Oh, wait. How would I know that if I didn't read the blog.

Busted.

Congratulations!

Wow, has it really been a year already! How time flies! Yay for more Snowy posts (not that your posts aren't good too....err....*opens mouth wider to insert foot*....moving on) - as I said previously, I think Snowy needs his own spot to chat with other canine companions from around the world...maybe there could be a 'dog discussion' hour or something every month on the blog :)

Seriously...congratulations :)

PS I was sorry to read about your house offer; i'm not too sure on how it works in the US but I agree with everyone else - counter offer!

Congratulations on one year--thank you for sharing your writing gifts, your humor and your wise insights into life.

Some of the posts that I especially love and appreciate are what I would call your essays on life: "Sermon on a Stump", "Always", the one on busyness (don't remember the name)and the many others you've done in that genre. I always learn something.

I also love your humor-based posts--you are pretty much just a complete nut! The "Snowy Goes to College" series, "The Spider Brothers" and the one about the Slug were fine examples of how well you write with humor. Made me chortle right out loud and you know it takes alot for me to do that!

I love you and I love your writing--hooray for Smithellaneous! :-)

Love,
Deb
