Lolling

I've been on a muscle relaxer since last night due to my back going "kapooy" on me for the first time in over a year.

I've never taken a muscle relaxer before and I've found it to be very, um, relaxing. I just loll around the house like The Great Smith Sloth and drift in and out of naps. Really rather fun.

Tomorrow morning I'm scheduled to play keyboard for two services at our church. I'm thinking that I should probably discontinue the medication before the services because it would not be a good thing for me to be lolling in la-la land in the middle of a song.

On the other hand, it might actually be sort of entertaining! The keyboardist suddenly falling alseep on verse two? THAT doesn't happen in church just every day.

Thankfully, I have Meagan and Nathan around so I'm happily working them like slaves; in fact, right now they're at Wal-Mart picking up a few "easy to make" things so that we can have supper with a minimal amount of concentration and focus involved.

So here's the rest of my day.

Eat.
Go to bed.

Okay. I'm off to do so some more pre-dinner lolling . .

I'm thinking you'd just be playing something that sounded either like elevator music or like an LSD trip from the 60s.. bet they haven't heard THAT in church, either. I am just so sorry that you're facing so many trials here lately. And I'm truly glad that you have your wonderful kids and hubby to help you over the rough spots. Just as you've helped them. And now, I know the song for you to play tomorrow... the Osmonds' "She Ain't Heavy... She's My Mother"....

A bad back AND muscle relaxers? Oh, you lucky girl. I have the bad back but am not allowed anywhere near a muscle relaxer due to the kidney situation. I would give anything to be that comfortable, that relaxed, that out of it.

I'm sorry you are experiencing yet another physical malady, but I am grateful that you are able to find some relief.

And from one temporary sloth to another: Enjoy the rest while you can. Life is full of chores and work to be done and running around and cooking and cleaning and shopping and lots of other fun things. A few days of rest is just what the doctor ordered.

The work will wait. It always does.

Enjoy singing in church tomorrow. I know you will be blessed to be a blessing.
