Fancy Cosmos-esque, Scientific, Mathematical, Calculatory Advanced Theorems

I was just glancing through my last couple of blog posts and realized that in the recently posted Thanksgiving picture I had inadvertently cut my favorite mother-in-law right out of the photo.

Oops! Sorry 'bout that, Vernie!

So here is the photo again, with all Smith people present and accounted for. (Except for Snowy, who was lurking under the table, waiting for blessings to fall from on high.)

Speaking of food, I just returned from the grocery store where I was happy to find several "buy one, get one free" deals.

What you may not know about those deals is when you get the second item free, it cuts the calorie count in each item in half because you're getting twice as much food for half as much money and somehow that sort of configuration alters the cosmos just slightly and the calorie load shifts in the food and part of the calories leak out and attach themselves to other food on the shelves that are NOT "buy one, get one free."

I just wanted you to know that.

And I really don't think you need to argue about it because, after all, I AM a homeschooler and I AM up on all of the fancy cosmos-esque, scientific, mathematical, calculatory advanced theorems which enable to me do do that sort of advanced caloric math.

You can thank me later.

I know this is not quite the right place to "put" this comment but I figured (I hoped) it would be seen before Thursday (tomorrow) morning. I just wanted to know that you and your family; first and foremost Sarah; will be in my thought, prayers and everything I say or due tomorrow as you head to Duke. I will be sending positive vibes, etc. throughout the day for what I know will be another great report from the doctor. Sarah, I know you might be a little nervous but just remember YOU ARE MY HERO. And with all my medical issues, scary tests and too many surgeries too count I always think of you. If you can do it, I can do it! Thank you for being someone I can look up too. Love always, Jodi PS. Will we be going to the bookstore? PPS. Ignore the errors took my meds via my tube and I want to get this out a long with a text to your mom before they render my unable to speak or type. Again, LOTS OF LOVE AND PRAYERS AS YOU HEAD TO DUKE.

If nothing else, just doing all that math ought to burn a few calories! Keep up the good work.

I love your math. I apply the same formula to broken cookies. The calories "fall out" of broken cookies, so it is o.k to eat all the broken ones. I accidentally drop packages on the floor all the time. :)

Praying for you and Sarah on your day today.

I like the way you think. I use the same calculations to figure that if I eat a cake/candy/pie in very small pieces, then the calories don't really count.
