Graffiti Attack At The Smith House.

As the title indicates, I'm very sorry to have to report that we did have a graffiti attack at our house last night.

It happened right as it was getting dark. I was in the kitchen, rustling around trying to get dinner on the table. I wasn't paying a whole lot of attention to what was going on around me and certainly wasn't noticing anything (or anyone) outside.

I suddenly became aware of some movement in the darkening back yard and happened to glance out the kitchen window just in time to catch a glimpse of the graffiti leaver.

It is a sight I will never forget.

Scroll down. Prepare yourself.

I gasped! I called for Sarah to come and witness the sight!

She was also stunned by the blatant, graphic display of graffiti.

See? Doesn't she look stunned?

She and I discussed the situation and and after much thought, decided we wouldn't turn the vandal into the police. Just yet.

We decided that we would show him a little mercy, feed him a little dinner, and see if maybe we could rehabilitate him. Maybe even to the point where he might want to enter the ministry, or something.

We'll let you know how it goes.

You can purchase ranch beans at Wal-Mart in the canned beans sections. They are in a black labeled can.

I am impressed that the graffitian, in his effort to be speedy and undiscovered, had the presence of mind to write backwards so it could be read from the inside. What a bandit! I think he could actually get a job doing something, somewhere!

This is serious stuff, Becky. Haven't you heard the news reports of a band of terrorists who go around nice neighborhoods spreading love amongst the houses??? It is a very big problem and the police are trying hard to prevent it from happening again by apprehending the ring leader. He was last seen wearing paint-laden clothes and carrying a 25 foot ladder. When last spotted, witnesses recall feeling the man was more terrified of the ladder than he was of getting caught.

Please lock your doors and windows tonight. The last thing you want at your house while it's up for sale is random acts of love.

What is this world coming to? Obama is right. Time for a change.

I thought you'd get a kick out of the fact that when I first read the title, I only quickly glanced at it, so I somehow read "graffiti" as "giraffe." LOL.

Oh wow, I wish I had a graffiti like this one on my kitchen window!

:)

On another note, I was at the bookstore this afternoon looking for "Notes left Behind", when all of a sudden, I noticed Chicken soup for the soul, the cancer book. So I took it and read your story. I loved it, really, it's so touching. At the end, I didn't know if I was smiling or near crying, but I thought that even though we don't live anywhere close, not even in the same country, you were still not so far away. At least, not far enough to leave me indifferent. And I'm sure the rest of the world who read your story felt that way :)

Such random acts of wanton destruction of property must be stopped, and those who commit such felonious assaults on you and society in general must be rehabilitated yes, but also should be instructed from their youth to respect the property and persons of others, and if that doesn't work a snk full of dirty dishes would suffice for punishment for such hidious acts! We love you too, Steve!

That's great! I'll take that kind of graffiti any day.
