News. Of the Biggish Sort.

A few days ago, I wrote that Nathan and his girlfriend, Meagan, would be coming to Manteo this coming weekend.

Well, it seems as though I was sadly mistaken.

Nathan and his girlfriend, Meagan, will NOT be coming home after all.

It seems as though some things have transpired in recent hours in their relationship and Meagan is no longer Nathan's girlfriend.

In fact, she will never be Nathan's girlfriend again.

Sigh. Sniff.

However . . . .

As it turns out . . .

Wait for it . . .

Although Meagan is no longer Nathan's girlfriend she IS his (drum roll, please) FIANCE'!

He proposed last night!

And she said yes!!

Nathan is bringing his fiance' home!

I'm going to be a mother-in-law!!!!

I was wondering if this might be coming soon...especially after you posted that they were coming to visit! Then the blog title removed any doubt I had that this must be the big news!

Congratulations! What special news for your family!

May God bless the time you have with them both at home as you guys get to celebrate :-)

Am really excited for you and Steve too Becky and sending you my love as always - it's so nice to start a Sunday with a smile because of lovely news like that. Love always, Nicky (Lake District, UK)

Hi Becky, so happy to hear the news and like others dying for some details!! Do tell! And as you are a MIL-in-training I am going to give you a tip! Nathan is the fiance (not sure how to do the accent on my keyboard), Meagan gets an extra "e" - fiancee. :D

WOOHOO! Not that I didn't see this one coming at some point, but nevertheless, WOOHOO!!
You're going to have so much fun planning the wedding! Congratulations to the whole family on this new chapter. It sounds like your future daughter-in-law is a wonderful girl, and I bet Sarah will love having an honest-to-goodness sister :-)

A word to the word-ly (as a former foreign language major, I understand your affinity for them): fiancée is feminine, fiancé is masculine.

that is so cool...too bad they couldnt have found away for everyone to been present for the asking....maybe you can convince them to live in between you and her family. so maybe they can visit more often.

Well, that's not unexpected.. but it IS exciting and awesomely wonderful!! You will finally be able to put an end to the awful "monster in law" stereotype that so many people want to perpetuate. Such a win-win situation in SO many ways... the families already know and love each other, you and Megan are both SO creative and lovely, you get along, Nathan and his in-laws get along beautifully. It's just a God-blessed union.. that's what it is! Congratulations to Nathan for snagging such a fantastic Proverbs 31 wife; praying that God will bless them with the richest of lives together, filled with faith, hope, joy, peace, and the greatest of all.. LOVE.

guess there won't be too many in-law jokes....

Oh Becky, that's AWESOME news. Congratulations!!!! I am so, so, so waiting for one of my children to get engaged, married, and provide me with a grandchild!!!! None of them are ready, though, so I guess that creates a problem! LOL How excited is PGC?? She's getting a SISTER!!!!

I also wanted to tell you that I tried your recipe for the Chunky Applesauce. It is FABULOUS!!! I altered it just a tad –omitting the butter and used SPLENDA in place of the sugar (I'm doing Weight Watchers so this then gives me about 3/4 cup for one point). My family loved it as well so I already need to make more! Thanks for sharing the recipe!!!

Haven't had computer access for some time now so am reading old posts and just read this one. Congratulations to Nathan and Megan! You and Steve will be terrific parents-in-law. How nice too, that you already know Megan's parents. Best wishes to all!

Sorry, just realized that I spelled Meagan's name incorrectly. One of my daughter's best friends was spelled without the "a" so my apologies!
