Still Here!

This was just posted on Facebook; it's the Pamlico Sound which is fairly close to us. All the water has been sucked out of it and they are saying it will be returning with a vengeance. Pretty odd sight.

We went through the eye of the hurricane and are now on the other side of it with more winds and rain. If all goes well, it should be far enough past us that we can go home in a few hours. We have no idea what condition our home will be in or if we'll have electricity when we get there but it will be nice to back within our own four walls.

We just lost power here at the church again and then it came right back on. I feel very fortunate that we have lights and a.c.

Anyway, just wanted to let you know that we're still doing fine but will be glad when this is over and the clean up can get started--also, it will be nice to be able to stop dreading it!

Just checking in to see how you guys are doing? Is the weather worsening, yet? I am super worried about you guys. I pray that you are safe and that your stay will be short. At least you have chocolate. That was on the list just below filling the tubs, right?

As for Snowy, he's got the "laying on the couch" under control (all those years of doggy college) making him a "show-in" for therapy.

For those of you who have some time weekend please check out this CB site: http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/kennedy1! They are trying to win a 25K "grant" from PEPSI to help finance the Miracle Party. Stacy, Kennedy's Mom, is the founder. It's amazing (you can learn about it on her CB page) and financed by donations only. She would like to go global, but right now it's only in CO. They invite and help finance expenses for families that want to join them from other states. They honor THRIVERS (like Sarah) as well as celebrate the children whose lives ended too soon. It's really simple to register, through PEPSI and go here to read more from Stacy: http://www.refresheverything.com/miracleparty. I registered and have NOT received any JUNK email, or advertisements from PEPSI. Look at the info about power voting too. They are currently in 18th place (1-15 receive the money). Last week they were has high as 10th place. Please check this out and if you think its worthy vote and pass it along, write about it on your Blogs. This is SO IMPORTANT to Pediatric Cancer Families!

Stay safe Becky, et al and the rest of the Smithellaneous Blog Family in the path of IRENE!

Pam,

I wish I saw this earlier, obviously I don't sleep well since it is 3:20 am (CST); I am in IL; I think some who have posted before actually live near/aroud me! Mateo, NC, I believe, is EST (I think)? So, having said that, if this post doesn't make sense......blame it on severe sleep deprivation.

I hope that everyone else is safe. If you are near/around the path of Irene, and you are able, please let us know how you are doing.

Happy Sunday, all!

Jodi
