Home.

I'm writing this note with a very contented, happy, quiet doggy lying beside me on his red blanket in the big chair.

I got home shortly after Steve brought him home from the vet and I acted like a positive idiot squealing and carrying on over him.

He's on tons of meds and a few restrictions (and to his great horror he is sporting a PINK dressing on his IV site), but all in all, he seems to feel well. He wolfed down the first serving of his new food without a quibble, so that was a big relief.

Thanks to ALL of you for checking in here, for praying, and for sending warmest Snowy thoughts our way.

We're a house of happy Smiths tonight

More soon . . .

Welcome home, Snowy! You just keep snuggling and eating and getting better. Many, many puppy and human prayers are going up for you - especially to St. Francis of Assisi - the patron saint of animals.

Here is one of my favorite St. Francis quotes - nothing to do directly with animals, but a good message -

"Preach the Gospel at all times and when necessary use words.”

I have been out of the loop as my brother got married this weekend. I was scared to check the site! I am so so happy that Snowy is doing better. We lost one of our doggies two weeks ago of a sudden heart attack and another one of mine is having a lot of problems, it is hard...and scary. They are members of our family. When they hurt we hurt. Praying for him to rebound quick! We love you snowy!

Welcome Home, Snowy. We are all so happy you are back at home with the "FAM!" I have spent many days in the hospital in the last four years (but not nearly as many as your Stupendous, Special, Smart, Sister Sarah); so I bet you were a little scared. I feel badly because you are there all alone at night. And when you are home you are super spoiled which is totally okay with me.

But enough of that because you are home and we are all thrilled. We have been praying for your comfort AND for you to get better soon. You have too many years left to leave all of your fans now. So, listen to Mom, Dad, Super/Sister/Sarah, and your Frat Brother from a far and we will feel even better!

In fact, I think you might be more popular and loved than maybe, Lassie, Comet (Full House), Tiger (Brady Bunch), Benji, Rin Tin Tin, Scooby, Scrappy and Beethoven?

Maybe if your feeling up to it you can send us a little update from you point of view. Things probably look and seem different from your angle on the world.

Let everyone know if you need anything.

Love, JS (in the VERY COLD SINGLE DIGIT STATE OF IL)

As a parent who has buried a two-legged (infant) and a four-legged family member... I totally get it.

These pups? They completely burrow their way into our hearts, and stay there forever.

I saw a sign once that said "I hope to be the person my dog thinks I am" and I couldn't agree more.

Our beloved charges? A gift from God.

A blessing.

Many, many prayers for sweet Snowy.

Cindy
