I’ll write more tomorrow, but here’s a brief report on Sir Snowy.
Snowy has to stay in the hospital at least overnight. He has a high white cell count, pancreatitis, high liver enzymes, increased blood in the urine, and also, one of his kidney stones has grown bigger in the last ten days and is showing up brighter on the x-ray. (Meaning that it has become more “dense.”)
Since he has eaten and drunk very little in 36 hours, he’s very dehydrated and will be on IV fluids and antibiotics all night.
The doctor said we would be called immediately if there’s any change during the night; otherwise, we’ll hear from them in the morning as to whether or not he responded to the treatment and what’s next.
I keep looking around the house waiting for him to show up. But he doesn’t.
And I miss him.

Poor Snowy. Poor Snowy's family. I am praying for a Christmas miracle for your little guy.
I'm so sorry. Poor Snowy.

I am sooooooo sorry. I know exactly how you feel as I had to make a "decision" about my precious 15 year old Picky in September. What others who dont have pets dont realize is that these angels become part of our family. LIke our child. Snowy has been a major part of you guys for years and years. I pray so God that Snowy responds so he can get better and come home. Until then, please know we all are praying for you guys and will remain doing so. I know its hard as I still look all over to see my Picky.
Love you
Nancy :-(
I haven't given up on you Snowy! You can do it!! Get better Buddy! Jojy
Saying my 'puppy prayers' for Snowy and his family!
Thoughts and Prayers for Snowy and all of you. I'm so very sorry you are all having to go through this. ((Hugs))
Smith family,
I am so sorry that Snowy is not well. I am hoping and praying that Snowy pulls through. May my two little cat angels (Nicodemus and Amadeus) watch over Snowy as he is in the hospital. I really hope you do not have to make that decision.
Love,
Michelle
Oh dear! I so hope he responds overnight. Is Victoria still there? She would be such good added support for Sarah...
Prayers continue....

So sorry to hear about Snowy. :(
I know this must be really hard on all of you. I'm praying for you. (((hugs)))
I bet that Snowy is missing you as well. I am so sorry he hasn't responded to treatment well so far. The four of us will be saying extra prayers tonight.

So sorry to read this news about Snowy. Our American Eskimo Sydney has chronic pancreatitis. She isn't allowed to have any food except a prescription food (Royal Canin Low Fat), but that has kept her with us for a couple of years. Praying that Snowy gets better quickly.

Aww hugs to you and Mr snowy...praying too.
I've been thinking about Snowy all day. And Snowy's family. I have two little fur-bablies of my own, who are growing old. So I can imagine myself in your place very soon. Please know that I , and a lot of your friends love you guys and your little Snowy. Thanks for letting us into your lives by way of your blog. Please remember I'm praying for you guys and Snowy tonight. with love, ~kim
p.s. I always check 'anonymous' because I can't figure things out , but I will always sign my name so you'll know it's me :)
Also thinking about your precious Snowy, I can tell how hard this is for all of you. Sending prayers.

Praying for Snowy and the family. Been there and know how you feel with him in the hospital on IV. Our cat went through that almost six years ago and God did not make us make a decision--He made it for us. However, Mama's little 3 pound dog (now 5 pounds)was very ill last Thanksgiving and she came through fine. You would not know now she was ever sick. God does answer prayer even though sometimes it is not like we wish. We have had it both ways and tears flowed each time. God bless.
Making sure that all of the Smith family, both 2 legged and 4 legged know that I am praying for you!
((((HUGS))))
Praying hard for Snowy and you all.Big hugs to sarah who must be watching her best friend suffer. Just lots and lots of love and prayers.
Lots and lots of hugs and prayers for you all especially Sarah who must be the saddest little girl right now. Please, please keep us posted on Snowy.
I am so sorry. Our pets are such a part of our families!!! Thinking of all of you.

I echo all of the sentiments above - for Snowy and the whole Smith family, for God's peace to surround you all however this turns out. Please keep us posted and I am praying he will bounce back!
Thinking about you and sweet Snowy. Praying for peace and comfort for all of you.
Praying for you all with Snowy's situation... I had the same situation with my himalayan cat several years back... he had kidney problems as well... Give him lots of hugs!! He is such a cute little guy!!!
I will pray for you all during this difficult time... pets are as much a part of the family as any people!! Snowy is such a cute little guy!! I had the same thing with my himalayan cat several years ago... it is never easy making those decisions! Give SNowy lots of of hugs!!
I hate this is happening to your family. I've gone through this with my own preacious Lacy, also a Maltese, several years ago. It was a gut wrenching decision to make. There are no words that will make any of this easier so I will simply pray for your family and say that I am so sorry. Hugs to you all.
Dana
Love and prayers to Snowy and Snowy's family.
