Short Report on Snowy and Steve

I did finally call the vet about Snowy not eating; she told me to drop by and pick up (yet another) kind of food, as well as a med that will stimulate his appetite. (So now we're having to track FOUR doggy medicines.)

She said if things hadn't changed significantly by tomorrow to call back and she'd see if he needed to be hospitalized again.

He has nibbled around this morning's food a little bit since then but still isn't drinking much. Other than that though, he seems to feel contented and happy. So . . . we'll see.

Steve continues to lie in bed and moan, not to mention groan. I'll lead music at church tonight and someone else is stepping in at the last minute to teach. Snowy can get in bed with Steve and nurse him back to health because, after all, Snowy truly does have the heart of the world's most compassionate nurse!

So sorry to hear Steve is sick too. I wanted to just tell you a little about Callie. I live in Clayton and have emailed you before. Callie is a Maltese/Poodle and she has a liver shunt. When I learned this I also learned that the surgery was $3,000 or more. I researched and found life after surgery was not that much better. We didn't do the surgery. I couldn't afford it. I decided to give Callie the best life as long as she was with me. She is on one med and she's an extremely picky eater. I can't believe I have cooked for a dog for five years. She had a bad spell several months ago and we didn't know if she'd make it. But she did. We're still hanging in there. She used to have a lot of urinary tract infections but has not had one since I put her on bottled water. I know what you're going through. Vets are expensive. I just decided that I had to let go of what I could not do and let God do what He always does. However long my Callie is here, she will be happy and loved. Now, lets talk about Steve! You can try the bottled water on him but I would not advise any other of my canine suggestions! Hope Steve is feeling well soon and that he does not share his illness with any of the rest of you! I'll be thinking about all of you and keeping you in my prayers.
